PHILADELPHIA - On and off the courts, fields, mats and pool decks, the Drexel Dragons continue to demonstrate their ability to lift human spirits.

The determination it takes to win games is no more or less important than the determination it takes to make a difference in people's lives, especially at the holidays.

This year, Drexel Student-Athletes from every team brought goodwill to many of our neighbors in West Philadelphia through our 2nd Annual Athletics Adopt-A-Family tradition.  The attached photographs tell part of the story and will help us remember the positive energy we experienced.    The event was largely coordinated by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, President Jennifer Cairone and ACHIEVE Staff member Meghan Foran who started the tradition while she was an undergraduate at Drexel.

The collective efforts of coaches, staff and student-athletes made the holidays a happy time for many who would otherwise do without, in a world where there is always more than enough.  While the gift choices were thoughtful and generous it was the warmth and openness of the Dragons in meeting these families at the Community Center that was every bit heartfelt and genuine.   After the gifts were delivered the Dragons enjoyed some recreation time in the gym of the community center with the children and their families.
