HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - On Tuesday, November 9 the Hofstra University Athletic Department held its Fifth Annual Mentoring Night, presented by Capital One Bank. This event enabled student-athletes to network and gain career advice from a number of enthusiastic mentors who are all Hofstra Athletics alumni.
The night began with a welcome from Executive Associate Director of Athletics Danny McCabe. The audience was also greeted by Andrew Corrado, who is a Senior Vice President and Market Manager at Capital One Bank. Corrado discussed the partnership between Hofstra University and Capital One Bank, including the newly-created Campus Entrepreneurship Challenge.
Following Corrado, young alumni speaker Corrine Gandolfi spoke about the importance of developing a resume early on and utilizing the resources and contacts available at Hofstra. Gandolfi, who was a 2010 graduate of Hofstra and was a member of the women's lacrosse team, currently works as a physical education teacher at Patchogue-Medford High School.
