PHILADELPHIA - On October 29 from 5-9pm, the Drexel softball team partnered with the Caring People Alliance to host a free haunted house at The West Philadelphia Community Center for children in the area. Roughly 800 young children enjoyed free food, a costume contest, arts and crafts, and carnival games.
The girls on the Drexel Softball Team were given various tasks including but not limited to: Serving food, face painting, judging costume contests, helping with crafts for the kids, and monitoring the haunted house. Although it was a lot of work, the girls got a lot out of the experience and found it very rewarding.
The West Philadelphia Community Center is located at 3512 Haverford Avenue in Philadelphia. To learn more about the Caring People Alliance visit http://www.caringpeoplealliance.org.
