After conquering the river in the morning in the annual swim to defeat cancer, the team ventures to the Williamsburg 4-H club that afternoon to work the annual Kiwanis Club Shrimp Feast. The event draws thousands from all over Hampton Roads.  While organizer Wally Riley works the crowd asking for donations, the athletes work the "chow lines", serving shrimp, hush puppies, and beverages. The second shift comes in for cleanup duty after the event ends. Many of the JRS donors are present at the event, and as they say every year, "we couldn't do it without the swimmers!" Coach Matt Crispino and team captains Austin Baraki, Kevin Gallagher, and Erin Welshofer are invited to a Kiwanis Club luncheon in October in appreciation of their efforts.
