The George Mason softball team hosted two youth groups on April 10 and 11th at the Mason Softball Complex. On Saturday, April 10th, the Softball team held their 5th Annual Girl Scouts Softball Clinic. The clinic is designed to introduce the young girl scouts to the sport of softball by teaching them fundamentals of the sport.

For the girl scouts who have some experience with the sport, the clinic builds upon and sharpens their skills. A great time was had by young and old alike. While parents smiled ear to ear watching their young girl scouts romp around the field, Mason's softball players enjoyed working with the girl scouts and their families.

On Sunday, April 11th, the team hosted the Herndon Reston Youth Softball on their opening day. The student-athletes talked with the group about academics, sports, teamwork and signed autographs. It was a weekend of dream weaving and torch passing with much to be learned and shared by all. Coach Verbanic truly believes that from the smiles and conversations heard by all involved it was a powerfully positive weekend for the team.
