WILMINGTON, N.C. - The UNCW women's soccer team teamed up with its alumni on Saturday to stage a 7v.7 tournament to raise funds to benefit "Kicks Vs. Cancer" and the American Cancer Society.

Organized by former player Rachel Urban, the tournament featured 18 teams from 13 colleges and universities, including Coach Paul Cairney's CAA champion Seahawks.

"We were very fortunate to have the opportunity to raise money and create awareness through our Kicks Vs. Cancer 7v7 soccer event," said UNCW women's soccer coach Paul Cairney. "It's also a great way for our fantastic women's soccer alumni to come back to campus, meet our current players and play some games. I want to thank all of our current players, coaches an alumni who made this great a great success."

A table with literature on cancer prevention was placed near the entrance to the UNCW Soccer Stadium and money was collected from the participating teams.
