A pair of CAA men's soccer players have been selected to the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America team. George Mason senior midfielder Richard Edgar was chosen to the 12-member first team and Delaware senior defender Kyle Davis was named to the second team.

Edgar, a psychology major and Dean’s List student with a 3.97 GPA, was an NSCAA/adidas College Scholar All-East Region Team member in 2008. The Mechanicsville, Md. native won the CAA Scholar-Athlete Award for men's soccer last season. A George Mason Scholar-Athlete Award winner as well, he is also a three-time recipient of the CAA Commissioner's Academic Award, and is on track to receive the honor once more in 2009. Edgar is also a finalist for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award.

On the field, Edgar wrapped up his career at George Mason with his second consecutive second-team All-CAA selection in 2009. He was also named to the All-CAA second team in 2008 after contributing two goals and an assist for a Patriots' squad that captured their first CAA championship since 1989 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Edgar was also a third-team All-CAA pick in 2007 and made the conference's All-Rookie team in 2006.

A team captain since his sophomore season, he was a starter in every match during his career at Mason. Edgar contributed two assists and two points in 18 starts for a George Mason team that went 10-7-1 overall during the 2009 season.

Davis is a biochemistry major and German minor from Hockessin, Del. with a 3.86 grade point average. A graduate of Salesianum School, he started each of the Blue Hens’ 19 games this season helping UD more than double its win total from a year ago with seven victories. The defender contributed a pair of assists this season.

Davis has twice made the Academic All-District 2 first team and made the Academic All-District 2 second team as a sophomore. He spent the 2008 winter session studying in South Africa and volunteering at a children’s AIDS clinic. Davis also did undergraduate research with the UD chemistry department over the summer.
