NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware men’s basketball coaching staff will lead a Miles for Myles three-mile walk on the morning of Sunday, November 8.
The walk is a tribute to Myles Brand, the NCAA president who died on September 16 as a result of pancreatic cancer, created by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
Sunday’s walk, which will begin at 9 a.m., will start at the Bob Carpenter Center and proceed up South College Avenue through the UD campus. The three-mile distance is representative of the three divisions of the NCAA. The walk will be led by Delaware head men’s basketball coach Monté Ross and the Blue Hen coaching staff.
The NABC is seeking a $3 donation ($1 for each mile) for each person participating. The funds collected will be split among three charitable funds for cancer research: Coaches vs. Cancer (NABC), The Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund, and The Myles Brand Endowed Chair for Cancer Research at the Indiana School of Medicine.
