Inspired by the movement Peace One Day, the athletes decided to take action and support the cause.
Peace One Day was developed by the filmmaker Jeremy Gilley as a starting point for peace in 1999. Peace One Day has the goal to encourage different groups of the society to take action and engage in any sort of manifestation for peace on September 21.
In order to support the movement, Mason Athletes formed a human peace sign on the night of September 21 outside of Southside, a restaurant on campus.
