NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware field hockey team will take part in the Under Armour Power in Pink campaign on Friday when the Blue Hens host Monmouth at 7 p.m.

The Power in Pink campaign was founded in order to pay tribute to women everywhere who are fighting breast cancer.

The Blue Hen field hockey team will wear special pink jerseys for the event. All fans are also encouraged to wear pink to the game to support the cause.

By raising awareness and contributing a percentage of Power in Pink jersey sales to breast cancer charities, Under Armour and Delaware field hockey are hoping to bring us all closer to an end to the disease.

The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition will also be on hand during the contest.

Representatives of the DBCC will give away pink items to fans and help raise awareness about the early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
