"The ultimate goal in this reachout effort is to educate and bring awareness to this great fight," head coach Joe Pereira said. "We are hoping that our time and energy behind this cause further heightens ourselves and our fans in the fight."
ODU will host five home games in October and t-shirts will be available at each for a donation. The women's soccer team and coaching staff made the shirts together, available in adult and youth sizes. Shirts will be available in the southwest corner of the ODU Soccer Stadium throughout each of the games.
In another motion of support for the cause in the battle against breast cancer, the Lady Monarchs will be sporting their own pink tie-dyed pre-game shirts for every game this month. Both initiatives begin this Friday night as the Lady Monarchs play host to CAA foe Drexel University at 7:00 p.m. (EST).
The other "pink-out" games will be Sunday, October 4 vs. Delaware at 1:00 p.m.; Friday, October 23 vs. Towson at 7:00 p.m.; Sunday, October 25 vs. George Mason at 1:00 p.m.; and Saturday, October 31 vs. William & Mary at 1:00 p.m.
Help the Lady Monarchs in the fight against breast cancer throughout the month of October!
