It’s another busy weekend of non-conference competition for all of the CAA fall sports.

In men’s soccer, #24 UNCW, which is nationally ranked for the first time since 2010, hosts Presbyterian and Mercer in the UNCW Hilton Garden Inn Classic on Friday and Sunday. Also in action twice over the weekend is Drexel, which entertains Sacred Heart and Stony Brook, and Hofstra, which travels to Philadelphia for matches against Saint Joseph’s and Temple. In matchups of former conference foes on Saturday, William & Mary heads to Old Dominion and College of Charleston visits Furman. Delaware (vs. Manhattan on Friday), JMU (vs. UNCG on Saturday) and Northeastern (vs. Fairfield on Saturday) are at home this weekend.

Three CAA women’s soccer teams are in tournaments on Friday and Sunday. William & Mary takes on Seton Hall and Rutgers in the Virginia Soccer Nike Classic, College of Charleston hosts VCU and Kent State in the College of Charleston Cup and Towson faces St. Bonaventure and Duquesne in the Navy Invitational. Delaware hosts Loyola on Friday before traveling to 13th-ranked Georgetown on Sunday. JMU is at home for contests with Villanova and Virginia Tech, while UNCW completes a six-game road swing with trips to East Carolina and N.C. State. Drexel entertains Big South foes Liberty and Longwood this weekend, while Hofstra hosts Marist before going to Albany. Rounding out the schedule on Sunday is Northeastern welcoming 21st-ranked Ohio State to Parsons Field.

Highlighting the weekend slate in field hockey is Sunday’s matchup between 17th-ranked Drexel and #2 Maryland. The Dragons are also home against Saint Joseph’s on Friday. JMU travels to Washington, D.C. to play American and Columbia, while William & Mary visits Louisville to meet the host Cardinals and Ohio University. Hofstra entertains Maine and Sacred Heart, Delaware takes on Central Michigan and Lafayette at home, and Towson plays Georgetown and Lehigh. Rounding out the schedule on Sunday is 15th-ranked Northeastern visiting Providence.

All eight CAA volleyball squads are participating in tournaments, with College of Charleston and James Madison both hosting four-team events. William & Mary heads to California for the Fullerton Invitational, unbeaten UNCW is in Florida for the FIU Tournament and Towson plays in the N.C. State Tournament. Northeastern makes a short trip to compete in the UConn Invitational as does Delaware as it plays in the Marriott Greyhound Challenge in Baltimore. Hofstra tries to build on its 4-0 mark at the Harvard Invitational.

In cross country, Northeastern opens its season at the Nassaney Invitational in Smithfield, R.I., and William & Mary starts its schedule at the Spider Alumni Open in Richmond, Va.  Hofstra co-hosts a meet with St. John’s and UNCW holds its own Seahawk Invitational.
