DELAWARE, TOWSON EARN BERTHS IN NCAA MEN'S LACROSSE CHAMPIONSHIP
For the second time in the past three years, Delaware and Towson will represent in the 16-team NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship.
The Blue Hens (11-5), who captured their first CAA men's lacrosse title with a 10-7 victory over the Tigers on Saturday, will travel to #2 seed and defending national champion Virginia (12-3) in the first round on Sunday evening at 5 p.m. Towson (9-6), which is in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in the last five years, will visit #4 seed Cornell (13-0) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Both games will be televised by ESPNU.
Delaware, which has won five straight games, is making its fourth trip to the NCAA Tournament under coach Bob Shillinglaw, having also made the field in 1984, 1999 and 2005.
Towson is making its 10th all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament and has an all-time record of 7-9 in the event. Coach Tony Seaman led the Tigers to the quarterfinals in 2001.
