Northeastern University left-handed pitcher JT Ross was selected as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCWBA) Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday. Ross delivered a phenomenal pitching effort against the University of Rhode Island on April 20, allowing only one hit in the Huskies 12-1 victory. Ross was named the CAA and ECAC Pitcher of the Week as well for his performance.

Ross struck out 12 and didn't issue a walk in the complete-game effort. Ross only allowed one base runner in the second inning before retiring the final 23 batters in order. Ross moved to 3-1 with the victory.

Longtime Northeastern head baseball coach Neil McPhee was impressed with the outing, "That was as good a pitching performance as I'll ever see or anyone will ever see. It was a lesson in how to throw strikes with all your pitches and get ahead. It was just a textbook performance, it was phenomenal."

Ross is the first player from the CAA to be honored by NCWBA this season. The NCBWA Board reviews candidates from each Division I Conference each week and names winners each Tuesday throughout the season.
