PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Tessa Ziemba • Hofstra

Ziemba earned her second CAA Player of the Week accolade of the season
after batting .600 in the Pride's four game sweep of the Hofstra Invitational.
The senior center fielder tallied nine hits during her 15 at-bats, including
two home runs and six RBI with 17 total bases to help compile an astounding
1.133 slugging percentage. She scored eight runs over the weekend and finished
with an on base percentage of .625. Ziemba leads the CAA this season in home runs
(9), slugging percentage (.833), and total bases (55).
PITCHER OF THE WEEK:
Chenxi Jiao • Delaware
Beijing, China/BIT, Sr., Pitcher
Jiao received CAA Pitcher of the Week honors after going 2-0 in the
circle and not allowing a run in 10.2 innings pitched during the Delaware
Spring Invitational. The senior pitcher fired an eight hit complete game
shutout in the Blue Hens 1-0 win over Hartford Saturday. The Beijing, China
native allowed three hits with four strikeouts in 3.2 innings of scoreless
relief to earn the victory in Delaware's 7-2 triumph over St. Francis on
Sunday. Jiao leads Delaware with a 1.45 ERA and a 5-2 record this season.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:
Maggie Hawkins • Hofstra
Easton, Md./Easton, Fr., First Baseman
Hawkins collected CAA Rookie of the Week honors after hitting .455
with five extra-base hits in Pride's 4-0 weekend at the Hofstra Invitational.
Hawkins scored four runs and registered five RBI, while posting a .538 on-base
percentage. The Easton, Md., native also hit three doubles to go along with her
first career home run and triple to finish with a 1.182 slugging percentage on
the week. Hawkins drew a pair of walks and did not strike out at the plate in
11 at-bats. The freshman first baseman also played stellar defense, handling 24
chances without an error at first.
