Nowacki
receives Player of the Week honors after clubbing six home runs in four games
at the Panther Invitational, and leading GSU to a 3-1 record at the event. She
recorded a slugging percentage of 1.846 over the weekend to go with an on-base
percentage of .529. Nowacki also added 14 RBIs and three walks, while finishing
with a .462 batting average. With 26 home runs in her career, Nowacki moved up
to third all-time on the all-time school home run list.

Ford
opened her collegiate career at JMU in thrilling fashion over the weekend after
finishing with a 2-0 record with 19 strikeouts in two appearances at the Cougar
Classic. In her collegiate debut Friday, Ford pitched a complete-game shutout
with six strikeouts, three walks, while surrendering just four hits. She
followed that up against Syracuse on Saturday by tossing a one-hit shutout and
tying a JMU freshman record with 13 strikeouts in a game. Ford also made her
presence known at the plate over the weekend by going 6-16 with two home runs,
a double, three runs scored, and seven RBIs.

THE WEEK:

Bailey • Hofstra

Pa./Elizabethtown Area, Fr., Outfielder
Bailey picks up her first career Rookie of the Week honor after
helping Hofstra to two victories in the Florida State Invitational last
weekend. Bailey started all five of her first collegiate games in right field,
batting .438 with five RBIs and a home run, tying for the team lead in both
power categories. She had there multi-hit games in her first weekend at
Hofstra, and had at least one hit in four of the five games along with an
outfield assist.
