CAA MEN'S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE
WEEK
Shane Sturgis • Penn State | Jr., A, Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East
Sturgis collected Player of the
Week honors after leading No. 15 Penn State to a 15-12 win over No. 9 Denver
with four goals on eight shots and two ground balls. Sturgis scored all four
goals in the first three periods to help the Nittany Lions build a six-goal
lead that they would never surrender. The junior attacker holds the team lead
for goals with eight this season.

WEEK
Sam Llinares • Hofstra | Fr., A, Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge
Linares earned Rookie of the Week
honor after shining in his collegiate debut with four goals in Hofstra's 14-9
victory over Sacred Heart. Linares scored HU's first goal of the season, while
adding two more in the second to help the Pride build a 10-3 lead at the half.
The freshman attacker added his fourth and final goal late in the third quarter
to record the most goals in a game by a Pride freshman since 2008. Linares also
added an assist in the second quarter to finish with five points on the day.
Zachary Oliveri • Massachusetts | Fr., G, Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot
Oliveri received Rookie of the Week
honors after recording 18 saves as UMass recorded a come-from-behind victory
over No. 4 North Carolina. Oliveri made several key saves throughout the
contest including seven saves in the first quarter before holding UNC scoreless
in the fourth quarter. The freshman's last save came in the final seconds of
the match as Oliveri saved a potential game-tying goal from the Tar Heels that
came after a turnover in the offensive zone. The Ronkonkoma, N.Y. native's 18
saves was the most by a Minuteman goalie since 2010.
