CAA MEN'S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Whippen earns CAA Player of the Week honors after having a
career day in leading UMass to a 16-9 win over Army in the Minutemen's season
opener Saturday. The junior midfielder finished with six points on five goals
and one assist, each single-game career highs for the North Chelmsford, Mass.,
native. Whippen scored his five goals on nine shots, with six of them going
on-frame. His five goals was the most scored by a CAA men's lacrosse player
this weekend, while his six points tied with teammate Andrew Sokol for the most
in the league's opening weekend.

Sanders garnered CAA Rookie of the Week accolades after
netting four goals in his collegiate debut and helping Penn State to a
season-opening 11-6 win over Michigan. Sanders scored the first two goals of
the season for the Nittany Lions, and finished with a game-high five points.
The freshman attacker posted a .500 shooting percentage, while picking up two
ground balls.
