Binghamton?s Vinson, Drexel?s Cimato, and Moran Earn December CAA Wrestling Honors
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ-Frank
Cimato of Drexel University and Donnie Vinson of Binghamton University were
named the Colonial Athletic Association Wrestlers of the Month and Drexel's
Connor Moran was named the CAA Rookie of the Month for all competition in
December.
Cimato, a senior 141 from
Yardley, PA (The Peddie School), went 6-2 in December, placing fourth at the
BRUTE Invitational. Cimato defeated the
10th ranked 141 in the nation for a CAA victory. Cimato improved to
2-0 in the CAA and 21-5 overall.
Vinson, a senior 149 from
Marathon, NY (Whitney Point), went 5-1 at the prestigious Midlands
Championships with a fall and a tech fall to place runner-up. Ranked fifth by
W.I.N, sixth by InterMat and seventh by amateur Wrestling News, Vinson is 18-1
overall, 1-0 in the CAA and remains undefeated (8-0) in duals.
Moran, a freshman 165 from
Nottingham, PA (Solanco), placed fourth at the BRUTE Invitational, and was 5-3
in December with a CAA victory for his 11th win of the season with
three falls, one tech fall and a pair of major decisions.
The CAA honors will now be
awarded on a weekly basis for the remainder of the season.
