Four CAA Runners Earn NCAA Men?s Cross Country All-Region Honors
RICHMOND, Va. (Nov. 9, 2012) - George
Mason's Robert Reynolds and Everett Hackett and William & Mary's Alex McGrath
and Josh Hardin earned All-Region Honors at the NCAA Cross Country Southeast
Regional in Charlotte, N.C. Friday afternoon. The Patriots finished sixth
overall (202) while the Tribe came home eighth (270).
The Patriot men ran the race as a tight
pack, with their top-5 runners finishing within two minutes of one another. Reynolds
led the pack with a time of 30:44.84 and a 23rd place finish.
Teammate Everett Hackett was not far behind finishing 24th
(30:46.39).
The Tribe's effort was led by the CAA's
top-finisher McGrath, who earned his second career all-region award by placing
18th in 30:36.97. Hardin also earned all-region honors for the second time in
his career by finishing 25th overall in 30:46.95.
Also representing the CAA at the
Southeast Regional was UNCW who came home with a 30th place finish.
John Riemer led the Seahawks with a time of 33:02.
Northeastern represented the CAA at the
Northeast Regional in Madison, Conn and brought home a 20th place
finish. The Huskies were led by Stephen Sollowin who placed 69th overall
with a time of 31:52.50.
All four CAA teams and individuals are eligible
to receive an at-large bid to next weekend's NCAA Championship in Louisville,
Ky. The bids will be announced tomorrow at 12:00 p.m.
