Pairings Set For CAA Women's Soccer Championship
RICHMOND, Va. (October 25, 2012) - The field is set for the 2012
CAA Women's Soccer Championship after an extremely competitive regular-season
race.
The six-team event will open with quarterfinal action on
Sunday, October 28 before moving to Martin Family Stadium at Albert/Daly Field
in Williamsburg, Va. for the semifinals and finals on November 2 and 4.
In Sunday's quarterfinals, #3 UNCW (12-6-1 overall, 7-3 in
CAA) will host #6 Delaware (9-8 overall, 6-4 in CAA) at 2 p.m. and #4 Northeastern
(9-9 overall, 7-3 in CAA) will entertain #5 Hofstra (10-8 overall, 6-4 in CAA)
at 6 p.m.
The tournament continues on Friday with semifinal action in
Williamsburg. At 5 p.m., #2 Drexel (13-3-2 overall, 7-2-1 in CAA) faces the
UNCW/Delaware winner, followed by #1 William & Mary (14-5 overall, 8-2 in
CAA) against the Northeastern/Hofstra winner at 7:30 p.m.
The CAA championship match will be played at 2 p.m. on
Sunday, with the winner earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Soccer
Championship.
Six different schools have won the CAA women's soccer championship
over the past six seasons.
