CAA Volleyball Offensive
Player of the Week:
Lana Zonjic, Jr., OH,
George Mason
Zonjic had an outstanding weekend for the Patriots leading
them to a 1-1 record and their first road win of the season Sunday afternoon at
Hofstra. Zonjic led Mason with 41 kills for the weekend with 5.83 kills per
game and a .356 hitting percentage. She tallied a match-high 18 kills Friday
night against Northeastern to go with three aces and two blocks. On Sunday, she
tied her career high with 23 kills in the 3-1 win over the Pride. Zonjic leads
the Patriots this season in kills (213), points (244), and aces (22).
CAA Volleyball Defensive
Player of the Week:
Chelsea Lawrence, Fr.,
MH, Delaware
Lawrence led Delaware to a 3-0 week, including CAA Road
wins at UNCW and William & Mary. She had an outstanding week at the net as
she totaled 24 total blocks for the week, an average of 2.2 per set. Lawrence
had a season-high nine blocks in the win over Delaware State Tuesday night, but
bettered that in the next match when she had 13 in the five-set victory over
UNCW, just two shy of the UD match record and the most by a UD blocker since
2010. She added two more blocks Sunday in the Hens 3-0 victory at William &
Mary.
CAA Volleyball Rookie
of the Week:
Ariel Shonk, Fr., L, Delaware
Shonk recorded 63 digs last week to lead the CAA and helped
Delaware to a 3-0 record. The freshman libero began the week with 13 digs on
Tuesday against Delaware State to go along with three assist and three aces.
Over the weekend she recorded match-high digs in wins at UNCW and William &
Mary with 29 and 21 respectively. Shonk ranks second in the CAA in total digs
with 356 and leads the Blue Hens with 5.48 digs per set.

Notes
Hofstra setter Catalina Charry moved
into eighth place all-time in assists at Hofstra and is now just one assist shy
of becoming only the eighth player in program history to reach 2,00 career
assists.
Towson won its 10th straight match
Sunday against UNCW. The 10 straight wins ties the 2010 Tiger squad for longest
win streak under Coach Bruce Atkinson. It is the longest active streak in the
CAA.
Towson junior Katy Buck recorded her
fifth double-double of the season by recording 14 kills and 10 digs against
UNCW on Sunday.
Northeastern improved to 10-0 at
home this season following wins over George Mason and James Madison over the
weekend. The Huskies have won 16 consecutive home matches dating back to Oct.
2, 2011.
Delaware senior Chelsea Lawrence
recorded her 500th career kill as a Blue Hen over the weekend.
James Madison senior Danielle Erb
recorded her 1,000th dig on Friday night against Hofstra. In doing so, she
moved into 10th on the school's all-time dig list and became the second Duke to
reach 1,000 career digs this season after Natalie Abel achieved the mark on
August 25. Erb also became just the fourth player in school history to reach
1,000 in both kills and digs after reaching the 1,000 kill mark on August 24.
Delaware coach Bonnie Kenny won her
200th career match at UD Friday night with a 3-2 win over UNCW. The Blue Hens
rallied from a 2-0 deficit to give Coach Kenny the milestone victory in her
11th season at Delaware.
