RICHMOND, Va. (Sept. 18, 2012) - William
& Mary's Elaina Balouris and Alex McGrath have been named the CAA Cross
Country Runners of the week following individual championships at the William
& Mary Invitational.
Balouris
earned the women's honor after posting a time of 17:39 to win the collegiate 5K

seven as the Tribe claimed the victory and remained undefeated through two
races. The win was Balouris' first in cross country, after four track victories
in her first two years.
McGrath received the men's award after
capturing the individual title at the W&M Invitational with time of 25:17
in the 8K event. It was his first cross country win, after seven track
victories. His victory led the Tribe to the team title as well.
There were several other outstanding
individual cross country performances last week. James Madison's Katie Gorman
won the JMU Open Invitational individual title and helped lead the Dukes to a team
championship. The three-time All-CAA cross country selection finished with a
time of 18:56.50 in the 5.2K event and led six JMU runners who also claimed top
10 finishes. It was the first career cross country meet victory for Gorman.
Delaware
junior Lindsay Prettyman captured the individual Division I meet title while
leading Delaware to the team title at UD's own Delaware Invitational Saturday
at White Clay Creek State Park. Prettyman covered 6K course
in 22:51.88 - the second fastest time ever by a UD runner on the course. It was her second
individual meet title of the season and Delaware won its second team title of
the season.
Hofstra's
Becky Celorio captured the 5K NJIT Classic in just her second collegiate race.
Her time of 18:49 was the 16th-best 5K time in Hofstra history. Celorio had a
50-second advantage over the second place runner, and helped the Pride to a dual
victory over St. Peters.

sixth. George Mason's men were also ninth in the Southeast Rankings while
