Hockey Player of the Week:
Crystal
Poland, Sr., Forward, Northeastern
Poland led the No. 14 Huskies to two more wins over ranked
opponents last weekend, accumulating five goals and an assist against No. 6
Virginia and No. 20 Michigan State. Poland scored the second and third goals
for the Huskies in the 3-2 win over the Cavaliers and recorded her second hat
trick - and third game-winner - of the season in the team's 3-1 win over the
Spartans.
Poland now has 24 points (11g, 2a) in five games for Northeastern.
She sits in fourth place all-time in NU history books with 61 career goals and
eighth all-time with 139 career points.

Hockey Co-Rookie of the Week:
Deirdre Duke, Fr., Forward, Northeastern
Duke
scored the game-winning goal in the Huskies' 3-2 upset win over No. 6 Virginia
on Saturday. To compliment her second career goal (and second game-winner),
Duke tallied a total of eight shots and four shots on goal for NU against UVA
and Michigan State over the weekend.
CAA Field Hockey Co-Rookie of the
Week:
Mary Lynam, Fr., Forward, Drexel
Lynam
scored the game-winning goal in the 78th minute of play to help Drexel defeat
No.22 California, 3-2 Friday night. It was her second goal of the season to
help extended the Dragons' winning streak to five matches
Conference Notes
Three CAA schools are ranked in this week's NFHCA Top 25 national
poll (Northeastern - 7, Old Dominion - 8, Drexel -15).
Northeastern made the biggest jump in the polls this week of any
school on the list by moving up seven spots (14-7). They have moved up 14 spots
since thier No. 21 ranking in the preseason poll.
Northeastern and William & Mary are the two lone CAA squads
that remain unbeaten through three weeks of play.
Five different Lady Monarchs scored a goal in Old Dominion's 5-1
victory over Radford Sunday afternoon.
William & Mary's 5-0 start is the best start to a year for the
Tribe since 2006, and the fourth-best all-time.
Northeastern goalkeeper Lizzie Priest is now tied for fifth
all-time in Northeastern history with 36 wins.
Sunday's win over Davidson was the 100th career win for JMU head
coach Antoinette Lucas. Lucas is the third coach in school history to reach the
century mark, joining Christy Morgan and Dee McDonough. In her nine-year
career, Lucas owns a 100-70 record for a .588 win percentage.
Northeastern knocked off #6 Virginia 3-2 Saturday afternoon in a
neutral field contest in East Lansing, Mich. Deirdre Duke scored the Huskies
first goal in the third minute of play while Crystal Poland added two goals,
including the game winner in the 59th minute.
Friday's night game (Sept. 14) between #8 Old Dominon and #1 North
Carolina will be streamed nationally online at ESPN3.com. Game time is 6:00
p.m. in Chapel Hill, N.C.
