LADY MONARCHS COLLECT GOODS FOR FOODBANK OF SOUTHEAST VIRGINIA
NORFOLK, Va. - With the season just over a month
away, the Old Dominion University Lacrosse team ran a timed mile at the
Powhatan Sports Complex on Thursday afternoon and then participated in
their second community service project of the week.
The Lady Monarchs walked through neighborhoods in Lamberts Point and
downtown Norfolk to collect canned goods for the Foodbank of Southeast
Virginia. Earlier in the week, the team dropped off bags in
neighborhoods around the area to promote their cause of ending hunger in
the region.
On Thursday afternoon, they collected the bags from local
neighborhoods and brought the goods to the local Foodbank chapter.
Earlier in the week, the Lady Monarchs donated 20 bags of clothes to the
Maury High School Fabric Club and Hope House.
ODU begins their 2012 season on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. at the Powhatan Sports Complex when they take on Louisville.
