LISTER, NICHOLSON NOTCH CAA CO-WRESTLER OF THE WEEK HONORS; LOEW NAMED LEAGUE?S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - FEB. 15
LAWRENCEVILLE,
N.J. (Feb. 15, 2011) - Binghamton's Justin Lister and Old Dominion's James
Nicholson have been selected CAA Co-Wrestlers of the Week, while Hofstra's Matt
Loew has earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors for all competition February
8-14.
Lister, a
junior 165 from Rodman, N.Y., won all three of his matches last week. Two of
his three wins came by fall, including a league victory resulting from a fall
in less than a minute. Lister is now 18-6 overall this season and has won six
straight duals, his most recent pair being back-to-back first period pins.
Nicholson,
a senior 125 from Des Moines, Iowa, prevailed in all three of his matches last
week. His wins included a tech fall, a fall and an 8-2 decision over the nation's
14th-ranked wrestler from Virginia Tech.
The pin was his sixth of the season. Nicholson, currently ranked fourth
nationally, is a perfect 28-0 on the season and 6-0 in the CAA.
Loew, a
freshman 197 from Wantagh, N.Y., won both of his matches last week. His victory
at Harvard came after a first period fall. The pin was the first of his career
and marked his 10th collegiate victory.
