MASONETTES TAKE PART IN ANNUAL WITCH WATCH
FAIRFAX, Va. - Witch Watch is an annual event
where members of the Masons Student Government and Student-Athletes, chaperone
students around the Fairfax Community, to monitor the safety of local
"trick-or-treaters." However, this year George Mason Student Government
brought the "trick-or-treaters" on campus. They allowed different organizations
to get involved by giving them a table near the dorms where they could do arts
& crafts with the kids along with handing them candy. This year our Dance
team was able to participate and set up a table with various arts & crafts
to do with the children.
The Masonettes, volunteered at
the Witch Watch during the day on Halloween. They had a table that the
"trick-or-treaters" could come to and at our table we had an activity. The
children could decorate a foam pumpkin, bat, or skull and cross bone by
coloring them or writing something on them. After they did their craft, candy
was handed out along with a Halloween silly band and a spider ring and then
they were off to their next table. Witch Watch is a great way for kids to trick
or treat during the day in a small and safe environment. The Masonettes had a
lot of fun talking to the children and doing the crafts with them. Overall, it
was a very successful event.
