TIGER FIELD HOCKEY HOLDS CANCER AWARNESS NIGHT AT HOME FINALE
TOWSON, Md. (Oct. 22, 2010) - In conjunction with their final home game of the
year, the Towson field hockey team had a cancer awareness night. The team promoted
the game ahead of time with flyers on campus and announcements at the home
games leading up to it. Through donations collected at the door, the team
raised $263 to be sent to the National Cancer Research Foundation. Everyone who
made a donation received a pink ribbon as thanks for their support. The team
wore pink shirts for warm-ups and had pink hair ribbons. The Tigers dedicated
their cancer awareness night to Bobbi Madison, who will be their academic
advisor in the spring and their sport administrator who is also a cancer
survivor.
