FOUR CAA WOMEN?S CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS EARN USTFCCCA PRESEASON REGIONAL RANKINGS
RICHMOND,
Va. (Sept. 1, 2010) - Four CAA women's cross country squads - Delaware, George
Mason, James Madison and William & Mary - received preseason regional
rankings from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches
Association (USTFCCCA), as announced by the organization on Monday.
James
Madison garnered the highest preseason regional ranking of any of the league's
women's squads. The Dukes are ranked eighth in the Southeast Region after
finishing 2009 in the sixth slot. George Mason and William & Mary also
received preseason nods in the Southeast Region, as the two programs are ranked
No. 12 and No. 14, respectively. Delaware begins the season ranked 11th in the
Mid Atlantic Region after finishing eighth a year ago.
On the
men's side, after finishing atop the Southeast Region a year ago, William &
Mary opens 2010 action ranked fifth in the region. George Mason enters the
season ranked ninth, one spot higher than its 10th-place finish in the
Southeast Region last season. The Delaware men start the season ranked 13th in
the Mid Atlantic Region, the same place that they finished in 2009.
