TOWSON, Md. - In
conjunction with the Baltimore Chapter of the National Football Foundation, the
Towson University football program will host its first Football 101 for Women
Clinic on Saturday, August 7 at Johnny Unitas® Stadium.
The clinic promises to be an opportunity for women to
increase their knowledge of football, learn the rules of the game, mingle with
the Tiger football coaching staff and to have some fun.
On Saturday, August 7, the Football 101 Clinic will take
place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with check-in starting at 8:45 a.m.
The clinic features classroom instruction on the "X's and
O's", a review of game rules and terminology, insight into the equipment that
players wear and the opportunity to participate in some on-field football
drills.
Sessions will be held in the Towson University Field House
and Minnegan Field at Johnny Unitas® Stadium.
The clinic will be conducted by Coach Rob Ambrose and
his staff with the support of volunteers of the Baltimore Chapter of the
National Football Foundation.
The cost for the clinic is $30.00 and it includes a light
breakfast, a souvenir tee-shirt, a game ticket to the Tigers' game against
James Madison on October 9. Participants in the clinic will also enjoy
lunch with the coaches when they can ask questions or pose for pictures with
them.
A
portion of the proceeds from the clinic will go to benefit the Baltimore
Chapter of the National Football Foundation.
The
mission of the National Football Foundation is to promote and develop the power
of amateur football in developing the qualities of leadership, sportsmanship,
competitive zeal and the drive for academic excellence in America's young
people.
