BINGHAMTON'S SWEEPS WEEKLY WRESLTING ACCOLADES - MAR. 9

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - Josh Patterson of Binghamton University is the Colonial Athletic Association Wrestler of the Week, while teammate Nate Schiedel is the CAA Rookie of the Week, for all completion the first week of March.

Patterson, a senior 174 from Ontario, NY (Wayne Central, won his weight class at the CAA Championships with two pins and a major decision. In the finals he defeated the top seed 16-6 for the title and was named the CAA Championships' Most Outstanding Wrestler.

Schiedel, a freshman 184 from Caledonia, NY (Caledonia Mumford), won his weight class at the CAAs, winning all three of his bouts. He won by fall in the quarterfinals, defeated the fourth seed in the semifinals and defeated the second seed in the finals.

Both wrestlers are heading to Omaha, Nebraska for the NCAA Championships March 18-20.
