WILLIAM & MARY?S RADLOFF, NORTHEASTERN?S PETERSON EARN WEEKLY HONORS ? FEB. 2
RICHMOND,
Va. (February 2, 2010) - William & Mary's Katie Radloff has been named CAA
Women's Swimmer of the Week, while Northeastern's Rachael Peterson earns CAA Diver
of the Week honors.
Radloff
won both the 100 and 200 freestyle events in the Tribe's split against UMBC and
Delaware last weekend. In the 100 free, she clocked a time of 50.48 and then
hit the wall in 1:50.99 in the 200 free. Her time of 50.48 was seven-tenths off
her season's best, but was still almost half a second faster than any other
swimmer this year.
Peterson
swept both boards for the second consecutive week in the Huskies' victory over
Siena. In the 1-meter dive she posted a score of 235.40, and she tallied 251.55
on the 3-meter board.
In other
swimming action, Delaware's Hannah Facchine picked up a pair of individual wins
in the two meets against Widener and the tri-meet at UMBC. In both, she took
the 200 breaststroke, while finishing second in the 100 breast and third place
in the 200 individual medley and 200 medley relay.
George
Mason's Sophia Graesser won two individual events in last weekend's win over
George Washington. In the 200 free, she hit the wall first in 1:56.75 and later
took the 500 free in 5:18.44.
Northeastern's
Kathrine Fugge won one individual and one relay event against Siena. In the 500
free, she claimed first place with a time of 5:11.90 and also swam a leg on the
winning 200 free relay team. She also added a second place in the 100 breast
(1:10.53).
James
Madison, UNC Wilmington and James Madison all had their meets canceled due to
the inclement weather on the East Coast last weekend. There are no make-up
dates set.
This Saturday, Northeastern hosts Dartmouth in
Boston, James Madison entertains Marshall in Harrisonburg, Va., UNC Wilmington
takes on Campbell in Wilmington, N.C. and Drexel hosts the Drexel Diving
Invitational in Philadelphia. William & Mary will head to Greenville, N.C.
for a meet with East Carolina.
