NEW MARKET, Va. (October 31, 2009) - William and Mary captured its 10th-consecutive men's cross country title while the Tribe women claimed their seventh championship in a row, edging out host James Madison on Saturday at New Market Battlefield in New Market, Va.

The Tribe men finished with 21 points, 36 points better than second-place George Mason which finished with 57 points. The Tribe women tallied 33 points, besting the Dukes by just seven points.

Junior Brian Sklodowski of William and Mary earned the individual title and Most Outstanding Runner of the Meet, clocking a time of 25:06.84 in the 8K race. He edged out George Mason sophomore Everett Hackett, who finished with a time of 25:13.52.

Sophomore Chris Tyson and senior Charlie Swartz, both of William and Mary, finished third and fourth with times of 25:15.02 and 25:17.39, respectively.

Delaware senior Chris Borque rounded out the top five with his time of 25:23.72.

Other men's runners earning All-CAA status this year were: Max Werner, W&M (25:25.28), Ben Massam, W&M (25:27.20), Loris Hutterli, GSU (25:31.04), Harry Miller, W&M (25:32.6), Sam Horn, Mason (25:39.04), Walid Berkhedle, VCU (25:41.21), Scott Tekesky, Mason (25:41.61).

On the women's side, senior Emily Anderson won her second-straight individual title and was honored as the Most Outstanding Runner of the Meet following her time of 20:35.68 in the 6K race. Teammate Meghan Burns was the runner up, clocking a time of 20:49.02.

James Madison senior Alison Parris crossed the line in third (20.55.54), while her freshman teammate Stacey Nobles took fourth (20:59.87).

George Mason freshman Rochelle Sceats rounded out the women's top five (21:01.32).

Other notable women's runners who earned All-CAA honors were: Janel Blancett, GSU (21:13.57), Kayley Byrne, W&M (21:30.45), Katie Gorman, JMU (21:38.22), Katie Harman, JMU (21:39.03), Laura Sinclair, Mason (21:39.94), Darcy McDonald, W&M (21:40.46), and Kelly McElroy, W&M (21:42.21).

Teams will next move on to the NCAA Regionals which will be held on Nov. 14.
