TOWSON, Md. - After leading the Towson men's soccer team to a pair of victories over nationally ranked CAA opponents last week, junior midfielder Marco Mangione has been honored by several organizations.

Mangione, who was named as the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week on Monday, was selected as the ECAC Division I Co-Offensive Player of the Week, sharing the award with University of New Hampshire senior Chris Banks. In addition, he was named as a member of the College Soccer News National Team of the Week.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Parkville, Md. native was selected as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Player of the Week.

Mangione scored three of the Tigers’ four goals last week as Towson defeated #23 George Mason and 20th-ranked Old Dominion by identical 2-1 margins. After scoring a goal on a penalty kick attempt in the win over the Patriots, Mangione recorded the first two-goal game of his college career in the victory over the nationally-ranked Monarchs on Saturday afternoon.

Mangione, who has scored four goals in his last three games, is tied for the CAA lead with seven goals. In addition, he is tied for second in the CAA with 17 points.
