CN8 RECEIVES EMMY AWARD FOR CAA MEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP COVERAGE
RICHMOND, Va. (September 17, 2008) ? For the second year in a row, CN8, The Comcast Network has received an Emmy Award from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for its coverage of the CAA Men’s Basketball Championship.
CN8 televised all four quarterfinal contests and both semifinal games of the CAA Men’s Basketball Championship live from the Richmond Coliseum last March. In addition, the network conducted pre-game, halftime and post-game shows from a special set at the Coliseum that included interviews with coaches, players and league administrators.
“We are thrilled for the well-deserved recognition received by one of our broadcast partners,” CAA Commissioner Tom Yeager said. “The outstanding production values that the entire CN8 crew brings to CAA games is tremendous and their coverage of the CAA Men’s Basketball Championship has really enhanced our tournament.”
Recognized for their work on the CAA Men’s Basketball Championship were executive producer Jon Gurevitch, producers Ken Henderson and Tony Smith, director John Anderson and host Gregg Murphy.
Last season, CN8 carried 25 CAA men’s and women’s basketball games, including action from both conference tournaments.
Overall, CN8 received seven Emmy Awards for its exclusive college sports, human interest and original issues-oriented and entertainment programming. CN8 earned the most overall awards for any cable network.
